In April, roughly 2 months after launching Street Photography London we started to curate a Flipboard magazine called…have a guess… “Street Photography London”.
Yes, we rattled our brains quite hard to come up with this one and we're not just a little bit proud!
It’s been an incredible success reaching 112,000 readers in a little over a month.
Some of you may ask: but what is Flipboard? Most will know but I’ll explain quickly for those who don’t.
Flipboard is a free to download app for phone and tablet which has been called many things. “A social media and news aggregation”, “personalized magazine”, “News reading app” and the list goes on.
With over 95 million users and growing at a pace of 250,000 more a day, trust us, it can't be ignored.
To us, Flipboard is the one stop shop for information whether it’s our twitter feed, our favourite websites, blogs, etc...
All the information we need about any subject we can think of is there in one place and more importantly presented in the same, slick format, easy to flick through.
You can be an active user and create your own magazine which you then curate with the information you deem fit to be included or alternatively be a passive user, subscribing to other people’s magazines.
Think of it this way: In life we are all specialists in at least one subject.
Now imagine if each specialist decides to curate a magazine on their favourite subject? Well there you go, all the info collected in one mag. This can be about Street Photography as we do, but could be about fashion in London, or food markets in Tokyo, Italian shoe makers in Florence…anything really.
One thing for sure it’s addictive.
How does it work for us? Well, our magazine is a collection of all the best photos and articles on the web relating to Street Photography. Pretty simple really.
So whilst we still feature the big dogs of street photography (whoever they are) we spend an awful amount of time looking for the hidden gems, sharing street photos we haven't seen anywhere else before (that’s nearly impossible but we try).
Why waste your time searching for it all when we do the hard work for you we ask?
